The methylation level in the <italic>CDO1 </italic>gene in tumor tissue was significantly increased in the T4 and T3 stage subgroups compared to T2.</p><p><bold>Conclusion. </bold>The increased level of methylation of the <italic>CDO1 </italic>and <italic>WIF1 </italic>genes, as well as changes in their expression are among the molecular mechanisms involved in the neck squamous cell carcinoma development. They can be considered as prognostic and diagnostic markers for this pathology.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p><bold>Введение. </bold>Злокачественные новообразования органов головы и шеи представляют собой гетерогенную группу злокачественных опухолей различной этиологии, молекулярные механизмы возникновения которых остаются не до конца изученными.</p><p><bold>Цель исследования </bold>– изучение статуса метилирования промоторной области ряда опухолеассоциированных генов <bold>(</bold><italic>RASSF1A</italic><bold>, </bold><italic>RASSF2</italic><bold>, </bold><italic>RASSF5</italic><bold>, </bold><italic>CDO1</italic><bold>, </bold><italic>MEST </italic>и <italic>WIF1</italic>) у больных плоскоклеточным раком головы и шеи.</p><p><bold>Материалы и методы. </bold>Количественная оценка уровня метилирования генов проводилась с использованием методов бисульфитной конверсии и метил-чувствительного анализа кривых плавления с высоким разрешением. В исследование были включены 25 пациентов (21 мужчина и 4 женщины) с плоскоклеточным раком головы и шеи.</p><p><bold>Результаты. </bold>Выявлены достоверные различия в уровнях метилирования ДНК в генах <italic>CDO1 </italic>и <italic>WIF1 </italic>в опухолевых и нормальных тканях во всех группах и подгруппах пациентов (рак гортани и другие виды рака, ороговевающий и неороговевающий плоскоклеточный рак головы и шеи, первичная и рецидивная опухоли, курящие и некурящие).
